1. National Milk Day and Gopal Ratna Awards

India recently celebrated National Milk Day on the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien. The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying conferred the National Gopal Ratna Awards to recognize the efforts of farmers and cooperatives in revolutionizing the indigenous cattle dairy sector.

2. Induction of 'C-295' Transport Aircraft

The Indian Air Force has operationalized the new squadron of C-295 MW transport aircraft. These tactical airlifters are set to replace the aging Avro fleet. A major portion of these aircraft will be manufactured domestically in Vadodara under a technology transfer agreement with Airbus.

3. Introduction of 'Bharat Rice' Initiative

To control food inflation, the Government of India has launched the 'Bharat Rice' brand. It aims to provide rice at subsidized rates through central cooperative agencies like NAFED and NCCF. This move is targeted at stabilizing retail prices and ensuring food security for the common citizen.
