    1. Hii tammudu,
Basis points (BPS) are a unit of measurement used by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other financial institutions to describe changes in interest rates.

      1 Basis Point = 0.01%

      So, 100 Basis Points = 1%

It's used to avoid confusion when small changes in rates happen. Instead of saying "RBI increased the repo rate by 0.25%", we say "RBI increased it by 25 basis points."

It is used to show very small changes in interest rates clearly and accurately. It helps in avoiding decimal confusion in percentages.

Example: RBI increased the repo rate by 50 basis points to control inflation."

This means rate increased by 0.50%
